We love the chores you hate!

It’s true, we enjoy some of the garden maintenance tasks that many home-owners find tiring or plain boring; weeding, pruning, mowing, raking and watering. However “Grand” your garden design, nothing will flourish without regular maintenance.

Happily, with an RHS-trained gardener on call, you can sit back with a cuppa and enjoy your own garden! Here’s our Menu of Gardening Services.

When to prune, how to prune? We know how.

Some gardening jobs are just too much for you to do on your own; you can’t prune an entire apple orchard solo, or even know where to start. Specialist pruning of trees and shrubs (such as restorative and formative pruning) calls for gardening know-how. If you’d like to learn, we’ll be happy to teach you.

Professional pruning by RHS qualified gardeners

That’s where our RHS qualifications from Askham Bryan College come into play; those years spent studying Horticulture have taught us everything from plant propagation, to controlling garden pests and diseases, pruning techniques, soil analysis, and much more.

If you have a banana plant, we even know how to prune that. (They are grown at Askham Bryan College.) So, if you value your trees and plants, don’t let them be hacked about by the odd-job man, call in a qualified gardener!

With her gardening expertise, Diana Evans can advise on your garden plans, present new planting ideas and garden designs. This might be something as simple as renovating an alpine bed in a front garden, to creating a vegetable plot, soft fruit bed, adding herbaceous perennials to your existing border, or working out what to do with a neglected garden, or an empty new-build garden plot.

Do you fancy a lesson in pruning? Or do you prefer to sit back? Either way, it’s your call. To learn more please contact York Gardening on: 01904 422711
